It is not science fiction. It is a dystopian novel set in the future (a bad future). I haven't seen the movie, but I tried, and failed, to read the book. It was nothing but a lot silly and cliched violence set in a make-believe ultra-violent reality/game show. Sort of like a remake of the old Thunder Dome nonsense. I can't imagine why anybody would want to read the book or see the movie.
: The latest Hunger Games movie came out this week and broke some opening-weekend ticket sales records. Anybody seen it? Is it any good? Is it really science fiction or just a lot of fancy special effects (like in the trailer)?
