I think Geo Bush's "war on terror" is one of the cleverest tricks ever played on the American public, a sneaky way to invoke war powers permanently and therefore justify things like torture and the steady removal of citizen rights. It's a very clever new adaption of the old fear trick that has been used by governments for two thousand years: scare the people into allowing steady movement toward a police state.

: Anybody read any books that summarize what America is getting into with their so-called "War on Terror"?

: How about "The New Crusade: America's War on Terrorism by Rahul Mahajan? I heard it had a good perspective on it all.
