: Anybody have a favorite fiction writing conference you would recommend? How about the Santa Barbara, California writer's conference? Anybody been to that one?

Have you checked out the Santa Barbara Writers Conference? This year it will be June 23-30. I haven't been to it, but I know some other writers who have. They say it's great.

They're going to have 30 different instructional workshops on everything from fiction to non-fiction, to screenwriting, poetry, biography, autobiography and memoir, young adult, marketing and ways to get your creative juices flowing. Fifteen are offered each morning and 15 each afternoon. In the late afternoons, they schedule either a speaker or a panel and every evening they have a major author speaker.

One day is dedicated to agents and editors and you can sign up to pitch an idea. Three late night "pirate" workshops are offered for those who desire in-depth critiquing.

The summer conference is held at Fess Parker's DoubleTree Resort on the beach in Santa Barbara.

Go to http://www.sbwritersconference.com for more info.

Hope that helps.

Jeff
